Every day, all over the world, Drupal developers are creating new code, writing documentation, verifying patches are correct, and making the Drupal experience better. That's what Open Source projects are all about! But, how do these coders strategize and make all this happen anyway? Well, one of our Media FX team members, Alex Brown, was lucky enough to be sent to the city of the Golden Gate, Alcatraz and Fisherman’s Wharf to learn all about it. But this was no vacation. Alex was more interested in the counter culture. And I’m not talking about a hippy love-in or gay rights activist rally. This time it’s the Drupalcon web development conference held at the Moscone Center. Alex had a great time catching up with other developers learning new techniques. Check out his blog post below.
Zach Shore, the Media FX Group’s motion graphics specialist has been hard at work too. Zach recently produced media for Backlot Films. Their latest film is a documentary on the bus system used at the Vancouver Olympics. The film will be used as a reference for the next Winter Olympics in 2014 in Sochi, Russia. Zach has created all the titling/transitions/interstitials and lower thirds.
The Legion recently held its first annual ball at the Wall Center. This charity event rose well tens of thousands in donations and sponsorships. Ronnie Way and I created the graphics and videos (with Zach) and churned out one of the best shows I’ve seen (within the budget). The Legion was celebrating the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Holland and the end of WWII. Proceeds went to help the Veterans Transition Program at UBC.
